Martin Fröst swedish clarinet virtuoso Martin Fröst is one of the most charismatic and multi-talented of instrumentalists, appearing regularly in leading music centres and with major orchestras worldwide. Engagements include the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Konzerthaus and Musikverein in Vienna, Louvre in Paris, Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, collaborating with such orchestras as BBC Symphony, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Rotterdam Philharmonics, BBC Philharmonic, Academy of St Martin in the Fields, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic, Stuttgart Radio Orchestra and NHK Symphony.

Current highlights include the opening concert of the Baltic Sea Festival in August 2006 with Swedish Radio Symphony and Manfred Honeck and the world premiere of the Kalevi Aho Concerto (which was commissioned for him by the Borletti Buitoni Trust) performed under Osmo Vänskä and the BBC Symphony Orchestra in April 2006. Martin will also perform the world premiere of a new concerto by Sven David Sandstroem, which has been co-commissioned by five orchestras including, Amsterdam Sinfonietta and Norwegian Chamber Orchestra. Future debuts include orchestras in Oslo, Los Angeles, Seoul and return visits to the BBC Symphony, Residentie, Gothenburg (both in Sweden and on tour) and Rotterdam. |
